Spirituality & Spiritual Direction

When Cath is not recording or performing on one of her Celtic harps, she is immersing herself in the fascinating and diverse world of spirituality. Cath facilitates workshops, seminars and retreats in creative spirituality.

These can be tailored according to the wishes of the participants - secular or non-secular, in all their combinations ! Combining her love of both Celtic harp and spirituality, Cath's topics include :

Celtic Spirituality (introduction & survey)
Celtic Spirituality (in-depth)
Spirituality of Sufficiency
Being Present to Presence
Earth, Wind, Fire, Water

Spiritual direction

In November 2013 Cath accepted the invitation to become the Co-Director of the Living Well Centre for Christian Spirituality. The Centre is located at St George's Anglican Church, Malvern. This centre is actively engaged in the ministry of Spiritual Direction. Our main activities are:

  • to offer Spiritual direction for individuals
  • to provide a four - year formation program for those aspiring to, or currently involved in ministry as a spritual director
  • Ongoing formation for those engaged in spiritual direction practice.
  • Supervision groups for those engaged in spiritual direction practice
  • Retreats, workshops and quiet days.

One of the exciting developments of recent years for the Living Well Centre is our partnership with Dr Alexander Shaia. Dr Shaia's groundbreaking work on the Gospels as a Pathway for the Spiritual journey forms the basis of the work of the four-year formation program. Our partnership with Alexander provides a home at St George's Malvern for public lectures and retreat days both with Dr Shaia and at other times using his material for further exploration. Cath is closely involved with this partnership.
